South Trunk Line Collection System Project
City of Berne, Indiana
The Problem
The project consisted of a sewer separation design of over 10,000 feet of storm sewer pipe ranging in size from 12 inches to 60 inches in diameter and from 3 feet to 18 feet or more in-depth, and reconstruction or replacement of inlets and manholes.
The design also included boring and jacking across a State Highway. Some relocation and repairs were included for water mains and service lines and sanitary sewers and laterals.
The Solution
The design also included surface rehabilitation, including mulch seeding, pavement and driveway repairs, street resurfacing, and other restoration work. Commonwealth saved the community over $200,000 with their redesign from a previous consultant.
