Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. Announces New Senior Project Manager and Opening of New Office Location

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [Indianapolis, IN – July 8, 2024] Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. (Commonwealth), a leading water resource engineering and consulting firm, is excited to announce the hiring of John Wetzel, PE, as a new Senior Project Manager starting on July 22. Additionally, Mr. Wetzel will be stationed in and lead a new Commonwealth office in Huntingburg, Indiana, which will officially open in the Fall of 2024.

Welcoming Mr. John Wetzel, PE

John Wetzel, PE, brings to Commonwealth over thirty years of expertise in water resource consulting engineering as the former President of an engineering firm, Project Manager, and Engineer. He has extensive experience working with Regional Water and Sewer Districts, Conservancy Districts, Non-Profits, and Municipalities on local and regional (multi-county) water and wastewater projects. Additionally, Mr. Wetzel has been instrumental in assisting with financing many of these projects by working directly with funding agencies such as USDA-RD, IFA, SRF, EDA, CDBG, and more.

John Wetzel, PE, graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and has been a member of the American Water Works Association for over 25 years. His experience with the planning/design/and construction of water resource projects has earned him multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards.

Mr. Wetzel will lead an engineering team in Huntingburg, Indiana, to drive innovation and enhance our offerings in and around the Huntingburg regional service area.

New Office Location

In conjunction with this new hire, Commonwealth is proud to unveil plans to open a new office located at 511 E. 4th Street, Suite 200, Huntingburg, IN  47542. The new office location is part of our ongoing efforts to better serve our clients and support our growing team.
