Commonwealth Joins Newburgh, IN for Ohio River Sweep

On May 11th, Commonwealth Engineers’ Evansville Office staff, teamed up to participate in Newburgh’s Annual Ohio River Sweep.  The Town of Newburgh staff used the event for public education and as an outreach opportunity to gain public support for increasing water quality by reducing pollution. This volunteer event was located along the Town’s Old Lock and Dam Park to keep Indiana waterways clean for future generations!

The Ohio River Sweep is an annual volunteer cleanup that extends the entire length of the Ohio River. Volunteers from the six states bordering the Ohio River remove litter at multiple locations along the river and its tributaries.

Since 1989, volunteers for this award-winning cleanup have made tremendous progress cleaning the Ohio River, but there continues to be much work to be done. Learn more at Ohio River Sweep – ORSANCO | ORSANCO
