Two of Commonwealth’s Young Professionals (YPs) attended the First World Water Day at Purdue University, West Lafayette on March 22, 2018. These Young Professionals represented Commonwealth’s continued dedication to environmental awareness and the state chapters of IWEA and INAWWA.

In addition to Commonwealth, several student, research, industrial, and professional groups displayed their water-focused research. This included: a demonstration by a team of students that installed a water system at a rural school in the Dominican Republic; a discussion on the effects of lead and copper on pipelines; and many more. The presentations and panels focused on the World Water Day 2018 theme “The Answer is in Nature” to increase awareness of our generation’s challenge to protect water as a fundamental and vulnerable natural resource.
