Employee Spotlight – Rachel Runge
Rachel Runge, PE, joined Commonwealth Engineers in 2010 immediately after earning her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. As Rachel grew in experience and in her role, she was given the opportunity to be a part of the Commonwealth Associate Program. Through the mentorship she received in this program, Rachel gained project, team management, and business development skillsets. Her knowledge and drive have made her the first female engineer to become a partner in our company.
Rachel says, “working at Commonwealth has both given me a sense of belonging and provided me with challenges that have pushed me to be a better person and a better engineer. We are a family here that supports each other as we grow both professionally and personally.”
In her position, Rachel spearheads the planning, design, and construction engineering of potable water and wastewater projects. She successfully develops designs from the initial engineering concept through post-construction monitoring. In addition, Rachel now leads the Associate Program – mentoring and propelling other engineers forward in their careers.
Rachel explains, “One of the biggest benefits of working for a small but growing company is the opportunity to excel around every corner. Commonwealth takes employees seriously and values opinions. We’ve managed to be resilient through the recent changes across the workforce and we continue to look for more ways to be on the front lines of culture, family, and engineering expertise.”
Congratulations on your continued success, Rachel!
