MS4 and Construction Stormwater General Permits Move Forward

On September 9, 2020, the Indiana Environmental Rules Board conducted the second public hearing to adopt the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and Construction Stormwater General Permits. These permits are currently issued via permit by rule; however, IDEM is transitioning to the General Permit process due to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements.

Commonwealth has participated in IDEM’s MS4 General Permit Work Group since 2018. We are ready to assist you with your stormwater program in implementation and compliance with these new MS4 and Construction stormwater requirements. 

In addition, we would like to remind you that the 2019-2020 MS4 Annual Reports under the current permit coverage are due on April 1, 2021.
