Paoli Wastewater Improvements Groundbreaking

On May 4, 2022, the Town of Paoli, IN broke ground on its Wastewater Improvements Long Term Control Plan – Phase III Project.

Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. joined Town officials as well as representatives from USDA, the State of Indiana, Indiana Bond Bank, Springs Valley Bank, and Project Contractors in visiting the town of Paoli to celebrate the construction of a new wastewater treatment and collection system.

Project Description:

The Town of Paoli’s Long Term Control Plan Phase III Project consists of two (2) Divisions:

Division A contains various improvements to the collection system gravity sewer mains. The improvements include the replacement of approximately 4,000 feet of gravity sewer ranging from15-inches to 24-inches, new precast manholes, services reinstated, a new force main, and rehabilitation of Lick Creek Lift Station. The rehabilitation of Lick Creek Lift Station includes new pumps, controls, piping, valves, cleaning of the existing wet well, new precast lids, and steel structural to access the station and tie into the existing creek crossing.

Division B contains a new 1.75 Million Gallon per Day Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) including an influent lift station, screening, Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR), UV Disinfectant, cascade aeration, sludge holding tank, a bag dewatering system, chemical phosphorus removal system, electrical and controls, and effluent sewer and outfall. The existing WWTP structure will be demolished upon completion of the new WWTP.
