The Problem

The project consisted of reconstructing the Town’s failing dam and making it durable enough to be overtopped and accessible for the public and park maintenance.

The Solution

Viewing decks were added to create unique public vistas overlooking a colorful lake and trail. The lake was also deepened, and its perimeter was enhanced with a flowering native plant buffer. This combines both hard structures with a softer, biotechnical design and creates a safe and aesthetically pleasing park for Avon.
