Project Description

The Green Valley Trunk Line Upgrade project includes but is not limited to the installation of several types of gravity sewer main, including:

  • 230 LF of 24” gravity sewer main,
  • 2,800 LF of 18” gravity sewer main,
  • 1,300 LF of 15” gravity sewer main,
  • 2,700 LF of 12” gravity sewer main,
  • 60 LF of 10” gravity sewer main,
  • 560 LF of 8” gravity sewer main, and
  • 750 LF of 6” gravity sewer laterals;

Commonwealth also installed steel casing pipes using the open cut and the jack & bore method. The steel casing pipes were approximately 120 LF of 28” steel casing pipe (open-cut), 130 LF of 28” steel casing pipe (jack & bore), 180 LF of  24” steel casing pipe (open-cut), 165 LF of steel casing pipe (jack & bore), 80 LF of 22” steel casing pipe (open-cut), and 60 LF of 18” steel casing pipe (jack & bore);

Two types of manholes were also upgraded, and twenty-nine existing manholes were removed and retired. This included thirty-eight 48” diameter manholes and two 60” diameter manholes. The project also included external drops;  approximately 4,150 LF of existing gravity sewer removal; grout fill of 3,500 LF of existing gravity sewer; approximately 1,200 LF of removal of retired 22” marathon pipeline; removal and reset existing fences, yard barns, and miscellaneous yard items; asphalt restoration; concrete drive restoration; granular and flowable backfill; bypass pumping; clearing and grubbing; erosion control; final grading and seeding; traffic control; and all other work required for the complete installation.
