Electrical Engineering Department Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. is seeking an experienced Professional Electrical Engineer who will serve as the Manager for the Electrical Engineering Department companywide. The qualified candidate will work out of Commonwealth’s corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Electrical Engineering Department Manager, you will lead and be responsible for the Electrical/Control Team. You will be involved with all phases of electrical engineering of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure and be responsible for coordinating with Commonwealth Project Managers (PMs) regarding project schedules, deadlines, site visits, project scopes, etc.
As the face of the electrical/control department, you will have the opportunity to work on large municipal water/wastewater treatment facilities and will visit with clients to discuss their needs before their projects kick off. This includes power distribution, motor control, grounding and lightning protection, exterior and interior lighting, standby power generation systems, MCC design, specification writing, and construction cost estimating.
You and your project team will be tasked with helping communities and industries solve their most challenging environmental infrastructure problems.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering (graduate degree is a plus)
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Indiana and/or Kentucky with the ability to obtain reciprocity
- Sound knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals with the ability to apply them to real-world applications
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to serve as a mentor to junior team members
- Ability to speak and write professionally
- Control System coursework or experience is a plus
COMPENSATION
Compensation is commensurate with expertise/ability/years with a P.E. license, plus an annual performance bonus and additional incentive pay for each hour worked in excess of the 40-hour schedule. Expected salary range between $150,000 to $200,000.
