Delaware County, Muncie, Indiana Morrison TIF Sidewalk Improvements Phase 2 Groundbreaking

On Thursday, May 13th, the Delaware County Redevelopment Commission celebrated the groundbreaking of their Morrison TIF Sidewalk Improvements Phase 2 Project. The groundbreaking marks the start of the second phase of this project.
This project adds a mile and a half of sidewalk and trail to a high-traffic vehicular and pedestrian area. This added sidewalk and trail will significantly enhance foot and bike traffic from university students and other citizens who visit local businesses and restaurants and the Ball State University Campus. In addition, the project will add a pedestrian crossing at Tillotson Avenue and provide some drainage improvements along McGalliard Road in front of Ball State’s Scheumann Stadium.
“There are a lot of people that show up for Ball State Football games, and they are walking in the ditch. They are not walking on sidewalks because there’s no sidewalks existing. So this gives them an opportunity to travel and traverse safely,” stated Bradley Bookout, Director of Municipal & Economic Affairs for Delaware County, Indiana.
Commonwealth assisted Delaware County with the first phase of this 7 million dollar project and continues seamlessly onto the second phase.
