OCRA Announces COVID-19 Immediate Response Program
The Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) has released a Program Update to their Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Allocation Plan to provide funding for COVID-19 specific projects to assist communities during this time.
Funding for Programs will be up to $250,000 per community for eligible activities. Immediate response activities are those that will be achieved within the next 3 months. Activities may include:
- Converting Public Buildings for Covid-19 testing, diagnosis and/or treatment
- Rehabilitation of Facilities to Centralize Treatment
- Mobile Testing and Increased Capacity Support for Public Health Services
- Delivery Services/Food Pantries Etc. for those Quarantined
- Economic Development Activities to retain Jobs for Income Eligible Persons/Companies
Projects will still need to meet CDBG eligible activities requirements with primary assistance to Low-Moderate income persons. Projects will still need to meet the Environmental Review Requirements.
