Water Loss Audits – Scheduled Training
In 2019, the State Legislation enacted the Senate Enrolled Act 4 that requires annual water audits by all community water systems that supply water to users through meters. These audits must be “Validated” by a third-party certified “Validator” every even-numbered year starting in 2020. These water audits will evaluate the Utility’s water loss and establish proactive steps to address these water loss triggers. Per this legislation,
- Your Utility’s 2020 water data must be audited but does not require submission to the State.
- Your Utility’s 2021 water data must be audited, validated, and submitted to the State by August 1, 2022.
The State has updated the software to be used to the latest “version 6.0” and is offering three (3) water loss audit trainings and “refresher” trainings for the remainder of 2021. Find out more at https://www.in.gov/ifa/water-loss-audits/.
